The name kifli refers to the crescent shape of this treat and is also used for similarly shaped savory breads. (It was the precursor to the croissant!) This cookie is available in many parts of Europe by different names. This particular version is very popular in Hungary and Austria today. Ours is made with ground almonds, flour, butter, sugar, vanilla bean extract, and powdered sugar. Bet you can’t eat just one!
